Hi, Heidi ~ This sounds wonderful! I volunteered briefly at a home for
unwed teen moms locally to talk about and encourage breastfeeding. They
were reasonably open to it. A couple asked about pumping when they returned
to school. On teen mom who had just had a baby returned a couple of times
to talk with them also -- she, of course, had her little one with her and
breastfed on cue during the meeting times. :-) It was a beautiful sight.
We encountered more resistance in the form of "my mother doesn't want me to"
than from the teens themselves. I wonder if it wasn't an excuse from the
kids, but one with at least some truth in it.
~ Heidi
