Regardless of what sling a mom gets, I recommend that she get the video that
goes with the Over The Shoulder Baby Holder. It's the best sling
demo/teacher that I've seen yet.
Personally, my preference for a sling is the mayawrap (or similar
unconstructed, unpadded sling) and if there's someone available to teach mom
how to use this one, it's great as it's got a wider range of adjustability
than the padded slings....but there is definitely a learning curve and a mom
having other struggles doesn't need the hassle:) In that case, I usually
recommend an OTSBH (www.earthbaby.com), or the sling-ezee
(www.parentingconcepts.com)
But either way, ime, the sling video is a *major* lifesaver as I've found
that many mom's say "my baby doesn't like the sling" or "he's all scrunched
up in the bottom of it"...and in both cases it's simply not being used
correctly....
