This question has come up twice in the last week, which is pretty
incredible, given our BF rates at one year here.
Mothers going back to work want to avoid giving cow's milk for all the
obvious reasons. In what circumstances is it acceptable for them to skip
pumping completely and offer water or diluted juice as fluids and solids
during their absence? How many times a day would they have to be BF in
order to 1) keep up their supply and 2) meet the baby's nutritional
needs?
With the changes to maternity leave in Canada, I expect (hope hope hope)
that this question may come up more often.
Yea! What a great question to be asking!
