<< Rather than spending time blaming moms for their inappropriate choices, we
need to put the blame where it belongs--not on the mother. What industries
are responsible for sabotaging breastfeeding? Who influences mothers to use
infant formula? Mothers make the choices they do because they have been
influenced by the advertising and marketing of infant formula. The blame
lies squarely on the formula/drug industry and a government that has enmeshed
itself with the interests of that industry. And let us not forget that the
medical community has a high degree of responsibility in the sabotaging of
breastfeeding.>>
I agree, to a point. That is why I was urging a doctor to speak to parents
about the harm of AF, even if the mother is not pregnant again. I do very
much agree that marketing and govt ties to drug companies are an enormous
problem. OTOH, I think women are immensely influenced by their own peers and
HCP's as well.
