Quick note in reply to question about side-lying as a sleeping position. The
latest epidemiological evidence supports back sleeping only. Infants who died
of SIDS were more likely to have been placed to sleep on their sides than
their backs. I do recommend "tummy-time" (awake) as well as minimizing time
in plastic contraptions.
By the way, the whole co-sleeping issue is currently a hot topic with U.S.
pediatricians. A recently published, very long article in "Contemporary
Pediatrics" was very supportive of co-sleeping. See ... we pediatricians are
not always interfering with breastfeeding!
