Just heard from the LLLI Leader:
____
Thank you, thank you! to everyone who has helped with references and with prayers.
The mother called today in happy tears! She's being granted access to her baby as
of midnight tonight (Halloween) and breastfeeding resumes! The abuse charges (for
letting the cancer develop) are not dropped, but the DFS worker is sure the judge
will throw the whole thing out based on the DFS worker's report that there is
absolutely NO evidence of abuse of any kind.
Baby Jessica is tolerating the chemo well. She will be discharged after the fifth
dose in this round on Friday.
However, because the "abuse" hearing hasn't happened yet (Nov 8), the baby will go
to a foster home. But, but... the foster mother has agreed to let the mom arrive as
early in the morning as she'd like and stay until the baby goes to bed for the night! :)
Then after the hearing, everyone expects that the baby will be back in the mom's arms
for good.
Again, thank you all, thank YOU!! Please continue to keep baby Jessica Rose in your prayers. She has 6 mo of 5 days of chemo followed by 14 days of rest and then starts with the 5 days of chemo again. For an 11 pound baby, that's going to be a hard road.
The mom's attorney is following up on all the references you've sent for both current
and future use.
