I read this statement from someone's recent post and it struck home.
I often asked pregnant moms who were buying their nursing bra to take
to the hospital if they had ever seen anyone bf in real life in their
presence. Some said "yes" their sister or best friend and many said
"no" buy they would *try* it. Often the person they had seen had not
been successful.

I explained why LLL named their book "The womanly ART of breasfeeding"
and that some *arts* have been lost over the ages due to lack of sharing
of skills. Many women found this statement interesting.

When my Hungarian mother emigrated here after WWII she was dumbfounded
by the breast culture here. She was a self-employed seamstress who was
asked at times to copy movie stars clothes and went to certain films
as requested by her clients to copy something they saw on screen. So
she saw some "sexy" clothing.

My mother said "This is a strange country. Breasts here are not for
the babies, they are for pictures so that men can look at them."

This country needs a new slogan "Breasts are for Babies." They really
are, you know.
