At the Health Dept we used to decorate a tree with pink and blue booties shapes that I cut out of felt (just a single layer of felt), one for each BF baby in our program. I wrote on it the year and "Baby's first Chirstmas" with a fabric pen, and hung each with a white ribbon. It was also decorated with white lights with a cherub at the top. About Dec 20th, I took off the booties and mailed to the mom so she could hang it on her tree.
I am still in a splint with a broken finger, sprained wrist, bruised nerves and torn tendon so excuse typing mistakes. I am doing pretty good at typing with one hand now though!!
