If anyone is looking for hospital policies - Why not use Baby Friendly USA
guidelines?? It is done for you. Researched. I hope there is no IBCLC in
the world who does not at least have a copy of the USA one or the
International one.Even if your hospital is not aspiring at the moment to be
baby - friendly this is a first step - teaching everyone to follow comes
next. If you are writing policies make sure other disciplines are involved.
They won't buy in if they are not. If research is not solid behind your
policies - they should be reworked. Remember - Evidence based. Can't think
of a better source for setting up hospital policies myself than Baby
Friendly. Good luck all you policy makers. Heard something interesting -
there is a bit of a shift from calling them policies to guidelines.
Guidelines can be broken, policies cannot. Interesting ??
