Hale gives it an L3 (moderately safe) rating for short term use. Untoward
effects are possible (teeth staining or reduced bone growth) But short
term use (several weeks) is not necessarily contraindicated. No harmful
effects have yet been reported in breastfeeding infants. Same ref: 1968.
2 other ref said Tetracycline is poorly absorbed from breastmilk and
doxycycline is a close relative of tetracycline. AAP says tetracycline is
compatible with BF. Also how old is baby? If it was me, I'd nurse.
Sincerely, Pat in SNJ
