Yes, I had the same thought.  Also, how experienced were the moms at
pumping -- new to it, or been at it awhile?  It is a learned art just
like bf.  I'd expect production to go up the second week of pumping
almost regardless of when (in lactation) they began.

Personally, I began pumping for a relative's adopted baby when my own
child was 4 months old.  My production increased over the first few
weeks of pumping as I became more experienced, then leveled off.  IME
fenugreek helped some, but it certainly didn't lead to a
near-doubling of my output!
