Lavinia, that is fascinating about baby Tania. If you are able to get this
information I'd love to know what her actual gestational age was at birth.
Some babies are "older" in their gestation than their size might imply.
These SGA (small for gestational age) babies are more mature than preemies
of the same size who are AGA (appropriate for gestational age). If you are
saying Tania was 390 grams and SGA it would be amazing news. If she was AGA
and 390 grams I would find it hard to believe she survived on enteral feeds
of any sort just 4 days after birth. Often news reports about amazing
preemie survival don't make this sort of distinction.

I'd also like to say I'm happy to have a lactnet member from Spain! My
family has hosted 2 foreign exchange students from Spain (1996 and 1998) and
they both reported internet access was very rare there. We used to have a
Dr. Gonzales (??) as a lactnet member but I think he got online at a
university. How are things now in Spain in terms of internet service
providers being available to the general public and is it outrageously
expensive?

Carla (from Maryland, US)
