I do not think breast abscess requires hospitalization.  The surgeon who
usually operates on these mothers does it in the out patient department,
under local anaesthesia, usually.  They don't miss a feed, before or after,
even on the affected side, unless the incision must be so close to the
areola that they can't, because of the pain.
