i went to see the mother i helped yesterday. things were going moderately
well, although they still didn't have a clue what i meant when i said put the
baby on you and don't take her off ("she only cries to nurse every six hours"
they said). baby wasn't opening well to latch, but the cst really seemed to
help. last night there was a terrific storm and floods when i left this
hospital, which is 30 miles from my home. before i even got home the helpful
staff came in with bottles of formula all ready to go, telling her to drip it
on her nipples when the baby was rooting around to latch and "be sure and
nurse every two hours!"
the more things change, the more they stay the same.
