My daughter was very prone to ear infections in her first 9 months
of life. I didn't discover the joys of nursing lying down until she
was about 6-7 months old! It made NO difference in the frequency of
ear infections. I understand that some kids are more prone to them
because of the angle of the eustacian tube and that by the time they
are a year old growth makes the angle change and reduces the
likelihood. I'm so glad she was nursed. I can't imagine how bad
they might have been on AIM! Some of them did bother her, and
others I was unaware of until we had a regular ped checkup and he
noticed them on exam. I figure the difference was due to being
breastfed.
