Have any of you heard a radio campaign by a leading abm company that is
using SIDS as a way to get mothers to ask for their "Gift packs"?

I was called today by a hospital CLE who heard it this week. The ad
mentions the concern about SIDS. They go on to say, "If you are a pregnant
woman be sure, when you go to the hospital, to ask for your Enfamil gift
bag which contains information about steps to reduce your baby's risk for
SIDS." [Just quoting.]

The nurse that called me checked one of the bags and on the outside was
clipped a label that refers to the contents, including SIDS information.

The steps to reducing the risk are the usual ones, with the elimination of
breastfeeding as one of the steps. Credits were given to the CJ SIDS
Foundation (888-8CJ-SIDS). [Web site www.cjsids.com] The nurse called this
foundation and asked about their information and if breastfeeding is one of
their steps. The woman said it certainly is, and that it must have been an
oversight on the part of the abm company.
