I cringe at this comment also. It's such a negative approach. How
much more positive to say something like "Of course you can
breastfeed. Many moms are albe to provide all the breastmilk the
baby needs while some may need to add snother milk. This can be
done right at the breast."
Further in discussion with the mom one would get into the variables
including baby's willingness to feed at the breast.
I agree that parenting style is very important and that attachment
style (or whatever you want to call it if you think the individual
parents may have preconceived negative reaction to that term) helps
to maximize the "success".
