Just a note about breast reduction surgery. I got an email from a woman who
was considering it and asking me who in Toronto was a good surgeon for this.
I wrote back that the surgeons always do the surgery if the woman asks for
it, that it could significantly affect her breastfeeding experience, and
that she should consider this very carefully. She wrote back this:
"Dear Dr. Newman,
Thank you for your prompt answer. As I suspected, I should probably wait for
my post
childbearing years since the problem is not critical. Your opinion meant
very much to me."
Which just goes to show that maybe lots of women aren't that keen to have
this surgery, and all we need sometimes, is to tell them the truth and they
may not.
