> In Ruth Lawrence's Breastfeeding: A Guide for the Medical Profession, third
> edition, 1989 (sorry, I don't have a newer edition at home), p. 91, in the
> section Carbohydrates, she says:
> "The predominant carbohydrate of milk is lactose, or milk sugar. It is
> present in high concentration (6.8 g/100 ml in human milk and 4.9 g/100ml
> in bovine milk)."

In the next edition in the table A-1 (p.653) it says 5.3 in colostrum ans
7.3g/ml in mature milk >30days.
