# per day, by the end of two weeks, I would have over 40 cc (more than an
ounce) available, and would go into hospital holding that bottle of
colostrum and saying to the pediatrician, "Here give him this, not
formula". Of course with a lactation aid at the breast. So, the reason I'm
mentioning all this is that there is now one woman who actually did it, and
it worked just fine. #

With Ruut's permission and after checking details from her, I share this
sweet story with you:

One of the Finnish breastfeeding supporters, Ruut Palviainen, had a
planned c-section about two years ago. She had expressed some
colostrum prior to going to the operating room, and had that colostrum given
to her baby (from a cup).

In addition, Ruut had agreed with her own mother (who also had a
baby, but didn't breastfeed at that time any more), that her mother would
breastfeed Ruut's baby, grandchild :-) , while Ruut was being stitched up.

Mom's milk and grandma's breast, what more could a baby wish :-) !

Btw, she just delivered her second a month ago, and her
mother is expecting her 6th (or is it 7th) ;-) in spring.

Anyway, I just wanted to share this wonderful story :-)
