After some years of getting 1 percent gentian violet, I understand our local
store now carries a 2 percent solution instead. Given that parents are
using it once a day for three days, is there a need for them to dilute it?
The parent who asked has been dipping the cotton swab first in water, then
in gentian violet, as a thinning measure.
