Hi all!

I may have to be an expert witness for a breastfeeding custody battle this
coming monday. I just got asked today and I've never done this but have
seen multiple messages on lactnet about others who've done this but I'm
still highly nervous!. The father and his lawyer are saying that they have
proof that doing both breastfeeding and formula feeding has no benefit and
can harm the baby. Now I know that there are less benefits when feedings are
mixed, (and the harm is from the formula) but there was some article I saw
somewhere that stated (as I understood and remember it from a quick read)
that the benefits were negated pretty much totally when formula was given
so it didn't make a difference if baby was breastfed or not when formula
was given. It was a small blurb in the paper. Did any of you see that? or
have some idea of where it came from? I'm afraid they might have grabbed
onto this and I need some ammunition with studies. Or they could be
bluffing. This father will not return the child to the mother after an
overnight visitation last weekend. They are not married and have no legal
arrangements so she is trying for emergency custody. I gave her LLL legal
site and Liz Baldwin's number and her lawyer will call Liz Friday.

Please respond to list and home since it's a weekend and I won't be at work.
Thanks!!!!
