Betsy,

Perhaps the R produces more, or MER is stronger and baby has associated that
with unpleasant feeds so is now refusing or I've seen the opposite and baby
likes the fast flow and doesn't like the slow pace of feeding and need for
perhaps more work to obtain milk. Ask mom if she remembers any choking or
lots of gulping before on the right and then if so, have an especially deep
latch on R, have mom lying down to feed or at least semi-reclined with baby
in clutch hold with head well extended so can handle flow better-offer breast
when sleepy. Or if flow is too slow for this baby or less milk so readily
available then have mom use breast compression.

The real trick is getting baby one or two good feeds on the R so he learns
it's safe to be there-doing what she's doing and a tincture of time helps.
Hope this is helpful.
