I have a Mom who just delivered nine days ago and is breastfeeding. she had a
procedure called rouen-Y for weight loss (states they removed half of her
stomach). She is concerned whether she will be able to nourish her baby
without supplementing. She eats frequent small meals and was able to
maintain the pregnancy with no problem. Baby is just a couple ounces shy of
birth wt at 9 days (this is the first time I have seen this Mom). Frequent
yellow stools but no substance to them-only liquid. I have asked her to keep
a sample of her daily intake(mom's) and a log of baby's voids and stools. I
will see her again on Monday. Anyone see a problem or something I should be
looking for. I am wondering about the totally liquid stools-shouldn't there
be some substance to at least some of them? Thanks. This is a wonderful
resource!
