Dear Jan, what you said made me smile.  I came into nursing through the
back door - so to speak - I was a mom and LLLL before I took nursing.  So I
guess I'm a real hybrid (or schizo, depending on your viewpoint :-)
Anyway, at an evaluation of me as LC the nursery manager commented that I
wasn't hands on enough.  I took  that as a complement!  I told her I
couldn't go home with the mom, she had to figure out how to get the baby on
herself!  (Their idea of getting the baby on was - breast in one hand,
screw baby onto breast with other hand :-(  Just made me smile to remember
