Excuse me for voluminous posting today. I can't help myself.

"Yes - actually we ARE having a contest, and I'm in the lead! Thanks for
asking!"
All winter, I curl up on the sofa with my cod liver oil bottle and watch on
TV as energetic men ski as fast as they can up hill and down dale, in long
race after long race, accumulating points for the world cup in
cross-country. The currently leading athlete gets to wear a bright yellow
jersey. Perhaps we could design a nursing bra or a t-shirt in bright
yellow, with a slogan to denote the contestant's status in the world BF cup.

There is a t-shirt made this year by the Oslo chapter of the BF mothers'
organization Ammehjelpen, in the style of a hockey jersey. The design is by
Marianne Steen who has an unerring sense of humor and marketing. It has a
huge numeral 2 printed on the front, with Ammehjelpen above, like a team
name, and 'foran', which means 'out front' (as in ahead) below the numeral.
The message is also double: BF puts mother and baby at least two steps
ahead, and we all know what most of us have two of, out front. Since the
concept of special clothing for BF is unknown here apart from bras with
flaps, they are appropriate for use by anyone and are made in a unisex
model.

I hope I have not overstepped the bounds of advertising bans on Lactnet now.
Sorry if so!
