Hi Ruth,
May we use your list ? Nice Idea. I must share with all of you "my"
fathers of last night......out of 10 breastfeeding visits I made during
my shift last night, 3 of the Dads were unusually supportive. They
bounded out of bed as I rolled the baby into the room ( I know,) and
scooped the little one from the crib for some en face cooing and chest to
chest snuggling while Mama got awake/comfortable. They were then very
solicitous of Mama in a soft spoken way and stepped right in to assist
with positioning , etc.
One Dad was SO involved I could hardley see the latching process but Mom
was a multip whose problem earlier in the evening had been some mild
"engorgement". Milk was flowing freely ( always a beautiful sight ! ) and
between the three of them baby latched well and fed beautifully. Another
Daddy was answering Mom's questions as soon as they were asked ( she was
asking me but, hey ! , he knew the answer!!!)
I told these Moms that they were lucky to have such enthusiastic and
loving support and both Moms and Dads were glowing with pride. A nice
night, wouldn't you say?
