Hello there!
I need some suggestions :-)
I am helping a mother who is due in just a few weeks, and
she is having a tubal ligation scheduled for 24 hrs after she
gives birth (this will be her 3rd child) . She was asking
about what should be done if the baby is hungry while
she's in surgery, and I had a few ideas---but I wanted
to get a consensus of all Lactnet'ers before offering
her any directions. :-)
I talked with her about possibly waiting until BF had been
adequately established, but she's keen on getting the tubal
done right away. I am curious as to what your suggestions
would be in this case; she may not have much to express
for the baby at 24hrs, and we dont want to use ABM or
dextrose water. We are estimating the surgery will take
apx. 2 hours. I want to make things as problem-free
as possible for her :-)
I appreciate your comments!
Thanks,
Cherie
