Dear Susan, My observation of use of diflucan is that liver problems are
rare. Of course I don't do before and after LFTs, I'm going by general
well-being. I only did LFTs once when parents gave infant amount of whole
course (35 ml) over a period of 3 days -gross misrereading of directions or
non reading, I don't know which). Baby had mildly elevated enzymes.
Retest 3 weeks later was normal. Baby was about 2-3 mo old at time, if I
remember correctly.
With adult, do blood test before tx, in middle and at end, if concerned.
However, I think it is a waste of $. People with chronic candida are
taking larger doses for longer times without major problems. But I still
think in a normal, healthy adult with a normal liver, the med will be
handled by the body without long term effects. Sincerely, Pat in SNJ
