Good point about 8-12x often being less than physiologic for some babes, and
the AAP says 10-14x which is even better.

I think with the bottle feeding culture and so many moms and hcps in the
"scheduling" mindset that we are doing good to get across the idea that
8-12x or 10-14x MINIMUM is expected and more frequently is fine, UNLESS NO
EVIDENCE OF GOOD OUTPUT then this is a red flag. Always ask this question
about output, satiety, etc. Also realize that not all moms want to or know
to put their babies to breast for every "peep" they make, which is basically
what I think babies need. And if they are already there, as in wearing your
babies, then it is a no brainer. When in doubt, nurse.

Remember there is info about breast storage capacity (and this relates to
the hindmilk issues, etc). My understanding is some babies NEED to nurse
more frequently if mom's storage capacity is lower, and I surely beleive
that some babies WANT to nurse very frequently for whatever reason.
