Anna writes to Denise; >> A couple of
thoughts wrt the 4 hour schedule--if this mom is doing Babywise/Prep (and
being religious she is extremely vulnerable to this) you might ascertain
this and then gently let her know that apparently God has changed His mind
and it is now acceptable to feed every 2.5-3 hours per 1998 BW and Prep. If
she is following a 4 hour schedule, she is using an older version<<
I don't see the point of disturbing something that isn't causing a problem
ie; babies happy on 4hr fds, especially in light of the fact that she is
dealing with twins... Do you think this is contributing to the nipple pain?
>>The phenomenon I have personally seen with Prep
mothers is a high incidence of mastitis leading to early weaning because of
the schedule intervals.<<
Do you have something to back this statement up? There may be a link in some
women but "causal", we'd be seeing an epidemic of mastitis if that were the
case.
