Food is definitely attractive, especially if it is free.

The other important thing is the timing of the event. A midday meeting
during the week 12:30-1:30 (in my parts as patient care often drifts past
twelve) or Saturday am or midweek evening meeting (after 6 PM) are good
times. Many docs are unlikely to show up for a morning or afternoon
conference during a weekday as often times it is difficult to get away from
patient care. Also conferences set during the busy work months (whatever flu
season is for your part of the country) may not be well attended.

The other thing is having a MD/DO speaker included in your event. This is
key for getting CME. Also docs like to listen to docs.

Yes food and freebies always work for me :).

P.S. (Nancy Wight, Jeanette Panchula and Kathy Dewey were AWESOME- I heard
them on a distance California Public Health Grand Rounds last week. Y'all
need to take that talk on the road again).
