I need some information about adding concentrated liquid formula to expressed
MM (15 cc to 4 oz on EMM). I believe this is not a good practice because of
the increased renal solute load etc... but the neonatologist is asking for
references as to why this is bad. Any ideas? Also what other ways are there
to increase the caloric value of MM (beyond hindmilk feedings which she tried
and failed) without exposing the baby to the formula and especially the
concentrate undiluted?
Please reply off list as I am currently no mail at the moment while I finish
up a project I am working on
TIA
Marie Davis, RN, IBCLC
