My experience does not yet include the use of Reglan to increase milk supply. That is, I know it is recommended, but I have not seen its use. Can you please share your experiences, particularly dosage and length of treatment, expectation of results. I have a mom who after one month is pumping 3 ozs in 24 hours who just called today. Her pumping schedule is O.K., but she experienced no engorgement. She went to an fertility MD for pregnancy and learned that she overproduces testosterone, but no treatment was advised. I have suggested a prolactin level before starting Reglan so that a post-treatment level can be checked, as well, of course, as, does she have more milk? I also suggested an MD visit to pursue hormone/endocrine imbalance. Her OB has never heard of Reglan for increasing milk supply, so I will be faxing as much info as I can to him, as well as my assessment and recommendations.
Any additional suggestions?
Thanks for speedy replies.
