Dear Loni, it has always been easier to get bugs with honey, than
vinegar. I'd take the risk management approach with these drs. Do n't
they realize that most of this info is readily available to parents,
whether you give it to them or they get it on the net? Do they realize
if BF fails because mom follows their "not-up-to-date" info, they are
liable?
I don't know how you get "old dogs" to learn new tricks, maybe they need
to understand if they personally don't want to learn new tricks
(research-based info) that is OK, but they are leagally responsible for
their "behind-the-times info." Shame they don't realize they'd be best off
to leave the moms to those who know about breastfeeding and keep their
mouths shut and ears and eyes open - maybe they'd learn something!
Sincerely, Pat in SNJ
