Our 2nd daughter did sleep through the night--8 hours--from age 3 weeks
to 3 months on our king size bed. By every am she was next to me
smiling.
Teething put an end to the all night sleeping. So far, I haven't read
anyone mentioning teething as the cause at age 3 or 4 months for more
soothing, especially at night, through more BF.
Interestingly, this daughter had wisdom teeth bothering her at age 20.
She couldn't shake a stuffy nose. She had bright red cheeks and on and
off feverishness--just as when she was an infant with each tooth
eruption.
I told her dentist it was identical to her babyhood *teething* symptoms
and might resolve with extraction. Sure enough it did. Her pattern had
not changed.
Though our daughters slept in their bedroom on the floor below, while
BF,
anything beneath us would awaken me--without a baby monitor. Once they
weaned entirely (after 17 months and 23 months), my instincts to awaken
were gone. I was back to my pre-baby deep sleep habits. Knowing I
wouldn't awaken, my husband became the alert one for many years. He had
been the sound sleeper while I had BF. Role reversal happened!
