I just got an idea with the discussion regarding "Why should mothers
expect a hospital "gift" when giving birth?
Looking at the <Netaid.org> website under
http://www.netaid.org/SurvivalProject/index.html
perhaps mothers could be encouraged and educated to join together and
ask that instead of accepting freebies and formula, the hospital should
create a donation fund of the monetary equivalent instead. Every $8
value of
giveaway could be sent in the name of the delivering new mom to the
above Netaid program to help another mother and her newborn in Rwanda to
survive.
This $8 donation allows a Rwandan mother to purchase a Basic Newborn kit
for $0.75 (75 cents.)
How the money is used is explained under the first URL below.

Just a thought. Perhaps it could turn something unethical here into
something every helpful there in Rwanda.
