Val-I wonder if this isn't a case of someone picking up a little
information and then misquoting and misusing it. On occasion when a
baby seems to be getting an abundance of foremilk (explosive stools,
very many wet, gassy, never satisfied etc.) I have suggested
limiting baby to the same breast for a 2-3 hour period. This makes
sure babe gets some of the less dilute milk and often the symptoms
subside. I don't understand the idea of doing it only when baby
wouldn't take side 2 at the previous feeding, however. Again, this
certainly shouldn't be the approach for every baby, but there are
those circumstances when it does get over a problem.
