But infact, it may very well be the case that it is not the exposure of breasts
to the public, but the fact that the child is touching them with his mouth. When
I had children in breastfeeding ages, I lived near the beach. In the Netherlands
topless is quite common on many beaches, including the ones I used to go. I was
sitting in the sand in the middle of hundreds of goodlooking young, topless or
smal-bikinied girls and women, wearing a ''old ladies' bathing suit'' and a
towel around my shoulders and around the child to protect us from sunburn. But
there were at least as many people (men) looking at me as at those almost naked,
mostly bare-breasted women... It made me smile at my baby. For ofcourse he,
too, found my breasts to be the best :-)
Oh and BTW, breastfeeding in the Zoo next to the monkeys got me some jealous
looks from the Chimps I think, for I was quite competetive in attraction. Not
that it ever made me feel to rather not feed in public, but I can imagine that
women who are not used to just do and act as they want to can feel quite
embarrassed when everyone is looking and staring and commenting.
