Hi all,
Some time ago I posted about a overhead transparency I use in teaching. It was
about research showing that increasinf teh frequency of feeding does not
increase the total minutes at breast in 24 hours, but does increase infant
growth and milk yield.. I promised to look for the references. I did not find it
all, but largely it comes from:
DeCarvallho, Robertson, Friedman and Klaus: Effect of frequent breastfeeding on
early milkproduction and weight gain. Pediatrics 72:307-311. 1983.
Perhaps we did use some other work of Klaus et al, but couldn't find it now.
The graphs we use were based on the numbers from this studie(s).
