Laurie, when you wrote,

<< Today mom tells me she pumps out and baby takes about 3 - 3.5 ounces per
feed in bottle, but when she bf mom feels baby gets only 1 or 2 ounces. She
has to pump the rest to feel "drained." She feels that the baby is "biting
her" into the feeding. >>

it rang a bit of a bell with me. My new baby is just the same age (2 weeks)
and nursing great (NOT getting bottle feeds, I assure you!) but when she gets
tired, even just happy-sleepy at the end of a feed, almost every time her
latch slips down and I notice because suddenly the end of my nipple hurts,
noticeably. If (when!) I pop her off, sometimes she'll relatch better
again, sometimes she'll just drift off and want to nurse again in 5 minutes
(after the "pause that refreshes"), sometimes she's asleep and that's that.

She's gaining fine and flourishing like a green bay tree this way -- it's
just her style I think.

Could this baby have the same pattern? If so, it could be invisible in the
bottle feeds but noticeable only at the breast.
