I find these parents are occasionally, if not often, lying. I've heard
parents give me this line (I am even more rabid about car seat and booster
use than breastfeeding believe it or not) only to hear their child then ASK
for a booster and get told "Now Janie we both know you'll never sit in it
for more than a week until the novelty wears off so I'm not going to waste
that money". Considering the booster makes the seatbelt wearing more
comfortable and enables the child to see better, I have a hard time
believing any child wouldn't use a belt positioning booster with a bit of
coaxing. I think the fact is most parents consider it a good thing but
really a silly non-essential only for we 'paranoid parents'... much like
breastfeeding...
