Lactnetters,
I apolize if I seemed like I was condemning anyone who used their finger for assessment or therapy. That was not my intention. I wish when we were discussing an issue those on Lacnet would not take comments personally. We are debating an issue. And because we don't have a lot of research to back our interventions this kind of discussion is very valuable. It causes us(I know it certainly does me) to pause and evaluate what we(I am) are doing. After the discussion, we may continue a particular intervention because it seems to be the best option, or try something different, but at least we have gathered input from the vast experience and knowledge of the lacnet audience. I am humbled so many times by the complex cases that are presented and by the knowledgeable responses and suggestions. And I am amazed at the generousity of each person who does respond. It takes time to answer and to answer thoughtfully and with references. If you don't agree with me, I welcome your thoughts and your arguments!
