In response to Karen and Jennie, I know that in my area of Israel, this technique is quite popular as a approach to childbirth education.  This may be because there is an experienced instructor in this field in this area, ( a midwife) and I'm not sure how many such instructors there are out there.  

As  a childbirth instructor myself, I have heard something about this system from clients on mine who have done the "Paula" course, with varying degrees of satisfaction.  That's just about all I know, but having heard about it over the years, I was surprised to hear that it isn't more familiar to others, both inside and outside of Israel.
