Another lurker makes herself known... I am a LLL leader from Northern
Vermont, and have really enjoyed, and made use of lots of information from
this listserve over the last few months. I am working with a mom who is
having a very hard time keeping on enough weight to stay healthy. She
deleted dairy from her diet because of chronic fussiness of her newborn,
and did find that it helped her baby immensely. Her own weight dropped
precipitously soon after, however, and her GP is very concerned. Mom is
not over -exercising, or dieting. She actually says that she is eating
a lot! Her stress level is reportedly (and seemingly) fine, and doc can
not detect any other physical problem. So, part one of the question is
"does anyone have any ideas for ways this mom can keep some weight on?"
Part two of the question... Mom has begun to eat lots of peanut butter in
this attempt to keep her weight up, but was told that this could
sensitize her baby to a peanut allergy. (something we are seeing a lot of
up here right now. Other places too?) Does anyone have any info on this?
