In her post, Pat said, "mother's milk should increase. With the increase,
it will decrease SNS milk flow and leave more in SNS bottle. If you have
heard LCs say-using the SNS can help correct a baby's suck, the explanation
for that is: that when the baby correctly sucks, they get the reward of a
flow from the SNS.
If incorrectly sucking, they get minimal to no flow with the SNS. "

I know this is the idea behind the SNS, but has everyone asked their moms
who have used the SNS if this is how it works? My personal experience was
that my daughter would get milk from the tube regardless of how she was
latched or how strong my milk flow was at the time. I had to make a
conscious effort to clamp the tube until she was latched well and my milk
flow had slowed. Otherwise, she would drain the SNS bottle, and I would
still be able to pump an ounce or more immediately afterward. Does anyone
else have feedback from other moms who have used the SNS?
