Exactly what makes them not safe during lactation would be my next question.>>

Patricia,
This is my friend's response. Hope it helps.

<<Amygdalin, the active constituent in apricot kernals is not a vitamin,
and has been found to be mutagenic on the Ames test. This is a cyanide
containing compound. Cyanide is a respiratory inhibitor. Many cyanide
containing plants have caused fatal poisonings, including apricot
kernals. These poisonings have been documented in medical literature
around the world.

It takes 68 apricot seeds to equal 1 gram of laetrile. The experiments
with laetrile that were reported to be successful ( and these are
doubtful) used 400mg to 2 mg per kg body weight of laetrile. The dosage
required to be therapeutic is definitely toxic, and any less is most
likely ineffective, if in fact amygdalin is effective against cancer at
all, which I doubt. The research done on it shows it to be ineffective,
and the whole theory behind it makes no sense.

There are definitely safer, better natural treatments out there to deal
with breast cancer. Don't waste your time with this one.>>
