I am so, so sorry. You are absolutely right that I was insensitive to this
situation and to the mothers who have difficulties with their twin pregnancies.
The message I was trying to get across was *not* that "If you have faith in your
body everything will be all right" or "If you have problems it's because you have
done something wrong." I was, instead, questioning some of the extreme measures
that we go to to have a certain outcome, which IMHO seem to be excessive e.g. pain
management in labour, inductions, amniocentesis, etc. where they are not warranted.

And I certainly did not mean to minimize the pain that women feel about their
pregnancies and birth experiences. I have had some difficult experiences (five
miscarriages, various high-risk situations, a C/Sec failure-to-thrive babies,
PPD, and the loss of both of my parents in the birth year.) It has been hard, each
time, to regain faith in my body, and to trust that perhaps things were meant to be
a certain way, even though I won't understand why. I am still working on it.
