I know what you mean, Lisa. But strictly speaking if you can see something,
then this is a sign (rather than a symptom which is something the patient
describes) - so, it is not subclinical.
I probably would say this is a subtle sign of thrush. Often I look carefully
inside the baby's cheeks and if I see that white filmy appearance, I will
say to the parents that I think I can see subtle or early signs of thrush.
