This is based on the NDT (neuro-developmental therapy) literature, which
suggests the NUK nipple for suck training/therapy. They say that the NUK
nipple is better used upside down; I was under the impression that perhaps
the manufacturer didn't get this quite right physiologically when they
developed the nipple and instructions for its use.
